 "Bach and some
admirers"
The Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival's Fifteenth Season
June 10-17, 2007
Since Mendelssohn’s revival of
Bach's St. Matthew Passion in 1829, composers have been inspired by the
monumental music of the late Baroque master. This year’s festival displays works
that reflect their admiration for Bach. The circle of admirers includes all who
participate in Bach festivals around the world and musicians from many cultures
who have made his music their own.
Join us as we celebrate our 15th
season with the brilliant artistry of pianist Janina Fialkowska in both Chopin
piano concertos, the glorious sounds of the Brahms Requiem, performed
by the festival soloists, choir and orchestra, and much more, under the
direction of Kenneth Nafziger
